Math Teaching and Research
The joint construction and exchange activities between Tong Cheng Three-Star Junior High School and Anqing Foreign Language School have entered Phase Two. In accordance with the joint development plans, on the afternoon of 24th March, 2017, accompanied by Vice Principal Yao, eight teachers with the Math Department of Tong Cheng Three-Star Junior High School arrived at Anqing Foreign Language School to attend the teaching discussion seminar.
To begin with, in the first class in the afternoon, teacher Wang Yue showcased a review lesson entitled ‘Quadratic Equation’ in Grade 9 designated for the Senior High School Entrance Examination. Wang Yue enabled students to gain new insights through reviewing old materials on the basis of focusing on the examination outline. While sufficiently analyzing and training the key and difficult points, Wang Yue carried through supplement and upgrade towards the lesson, which enhanced students’ understanding and their command of the knowledge system. On the other hand, students demonstrated positive teamwork, making the lesson achieve favorable classroom effect. Besides, the multimedia aided teaching played an active stimulating role.
Furthermore, during the second class, teacher Chen Peifeng led students to discuss the lesson with the title of ‘Multiply Monomial By Polynomial’, which was featured in Chen Peifeng’ s linguistic simplicity and validity, clear and precise interpretation thoughts, progressive knowledge hierarchy which went from the easy to the difficult and complicated in addition to the successive knowledge links which paid attention to the implementation work. In the meantime, Chen Peifeng laid emphasis on the classroom guidance, actively advocated the autonomous, cooperative and exploratory learning styles, which created incredible class response.
In conclusion, after the exchange events, at the conference room on the first floor of the administration building, all math teachers conducted meticulous and in-depth teaching and research discussions. All teachers spoke out freely, highly affirmed and gave a high appraisal to the two teachers’ brilliant teaching. Last but not the least, Vice Principal Yao with Tong Cheng Three-Star Junior High School proceeded the summary speech and also put forward the valuable suggestions in mathematical education.
